Read:94

The National Development and Reform Commission recently published Roadmap for China Abolishing Incandescent Lamps (draft). According to this draft, China will completely eliminate the use of general service incandescent lamps by 2016. The final version will be released officially on October 1 this year.

The draft proposes that the sale and import of general service incandescent lamps greater than 100 watts (including) will be prohibited from October 1, 2012. The sale and import of general service incandescent lamps greater than 60 watts (including) will be prohibited from October 1, 2014. According to the energy efficiency standards, the production, sale and import of inefficient tungsten halogen lamps with luminous efficiency less than the limit value prescribed by energy efficiency. And the sale and import of general service incandescent lamps greater than 15 watts (including) will be prohibited from October 1, 2016. However, The incandescent lamps of other types including reflective incandescent lamps, spotlights and decorative lighting, and special-purpose incandescent lamps are out of the eliminating range.

The industry insiders believe that the release and gradual implementation of the Roadmap for China Abolishing Incandescent Lamps will undoubtedly bring great benefits for the related listed companies producing energy-saving lamps and LED lighting.
